Basalt Vista - Habitat for Humanity

The objective of this project is to showcase the partnership between Blue Planet Energy, Habitat for Humanity, NREL, DOE, and Holy Cross Energy and how they collaborated to bring sustainable energy to a Habitat for Humanity community in Colorado. This case study aims to educate and inspire others about the benefits of renewable energy systems for communities and how they can contribute to energy resilience, cost savings, and a more sustainable future.

To bring sustainable energy to the Habitat for Humanity community in Colorado, Blue Planet Energy, Habitat for Humanity, NREL, DOE, and Holy Cross Energy collaborated to install a renewable energy system that includes solar panels and energy storage systems. The system is designed to store energy generated by the solar panels and provide reliable backup power during outages. The installation required careful planning and consideration of the unique challenges associated with communities in Colorado, including resilience and sustainability needs. The renewable energy system has provided the Habitat for Humanity community with a reliable source of electricity and has reduced their dependence on the grid, resulting in cost savings and improved energy independence. The partnership between Blue Planet Energy, Habitat for Humanity, NREL, DOE, and Holy Cross Energy has demonstrated the potential of renewable energy systems to transform communities and contribute to a more sustainable future.
